Outreach Services
The Outreach Workers are a part of L.P. Miller Student Services Department. Within the school and the community, the Outreach workers support and advocate for the needs of youth and their families to facilitate a positive school environment, learning achievement and involvement in various community events and supports. Access to the services of the Outreach Workers can be self-referred, through school staff, and/or parent/guardian. Please feel free to visit or call:
(M-F 8:00-4:00) 306 862-4950 (School) or 306 862-7055 (Lynn)
Personal Counseling
The in-school personal counselor provides counseling to students experiencing serious social/emotional challenges in their lives and provides support and consultation to parents/guardians and staff members in working with those students, when needed. The in-school personal counselor is at LP Miller on Monday, Thursday and Friday each week.
Parents/guardians and school staff can also refer students for counseling support by arranging to speak with the counselor directly by phone or in person.
Academic & Career Counseling
The academic and career counselor assists with course and program selection, timetables and scheduling, school adjustment, attendance issues and study skills. The counselor also works with students regarding career or vocational issues including career exploration and planning, resume preparation, job interview skills and job search strategies and makes available to them a wide range of educational and occupational information. Students may also consult the counselor for information about student orientation programs at colleges or universities, exchange opportunities, and scholarships and bursaries. Make an appointment at the guidance office to discuss course options and to plan your academic life at L.P. Miller.
